With #BumpItForward, we are aiming to get vital equipment and supplies to frontline healthcare workers and support the most vulnerable people in the communities we serve.
“The Covid vaccine is now being rolled out in UK, but it will be a long time before it is available in Malawi, and we are crashing hard into our second wave here, with an overflowing hospital, rapidly increasing deaths, a National State of Disaster declared yesterday, and health care workers falling sick.”Professor Melita Gordon, MLW Malawi.
"There is inadequate PPE in most government facilities. We particularly have knowledge about public facilities in which Sisters' clinics are co-located. These hospitals and clinics have inadequate surgical masks and cleaning supplies and are sometimes making do without." Primrose Matambanadzo, CeSHHAR Zimbabwe.
You helped us reach our third stretch target of £65,000 - which is just incredible. We cannot thank you enough for your support. LSTM's new Chair, Jim McKenna, would like to share his thanks in this video.
The first tranches of funding have been sent to colleagues overseas, and we have received many public messages of support for the campaign and we are humbled by the solidarity shown.
With your support, we believe we can raise more funds to get vital equipment overseas as our colleagues, and their colleagues, wait to receive the vaccine and so we set a new target of £100,000!
Keep your eye out for our follow up stories about the impact your donation has made.
