How to Apply? 

Students offered a conditional place on an applicable programme will automatically be sent a scholarship application form. The deadlines for returning applications are listed below.

The Director's Anniversary Excellence Scholarship (UK)

£15K scholarship to cover the standard home student course fees, bench fee if applicable, and contribution towards living costs. This competitive scholarship is awarded to one applicant. 
  • UK resident /British national
  • Identify as Black or Asian
  • Meets the admissions criteria for their chosen LSTM in-person taught Master’s
  • Must articulate the difference this scholarship will make to them (350-400 word statement)
  • The following will also be considered as part of the application process
  • First in the family to gain a postgraduate degree
  • Care leaver

A limited number of scholarships available for partial fee funding up to £1,500

1. Potential Impact of studies on career;

2. Academic Merit (Minimum 2:1 equivalent undergraduate degree);

3. Evidence of supplementary funding to support Merit Scholarship

Postgraduate Progression Discount – All MSc programmes
20% reduction in Tuition Fee only

No Scholarship Form required.  

Eligible students must have a 2:1 equivalent or above and not already have a higher level qualification.

Discount applies to self-funding students (this includes those using PG loans to finance their studies)

  

This discount is capped and when the budget is spent, this discount will be closed.

Intercalation Discount – 20% discount for intercalating medics on any eligible Masters programme No Scholarship Form required.  Eligible students must have completed 3 years of the medical degree and not already hold a qualification higher than a Bachelors Degree.
Discount applicable to those who are self funding only (ie. PG loans) – not applicable to NHS Bursary students.		 This discount is capped and when the budget is spent, this discount will be closed.

  • LMIC resident / LMIC national
  • Meets the admissions criteria for their chosen in-person taught Master’s programme
  • Able to articulate the difference this scholarship would make to them and how they would use it on return to their home country (350-400 word statement)
  • This scholarship is ringfenced to applications from our partnership hubs.

125th Anniversary Excellence Scholarships

123 unique scholarships aimed at supporting access to our world-leading postgraduate education for applicants who are resident in countries on the OECD LMIC list. The scholarships will reduce the standard international student fee to £12, 500 for those who are eligible.

This is not a competitive scholarship. All applicants meeting the eligibility criteria will be offered the reduced fee up to the maximum number of places available for each programme.

  • Being the first in the family to gain a postgraduate degree will be an advantage if we have more applicants than available places.

2 x Full scholarships to early career Paediatricians only - covering full fees, flights, accommodation and stipend.

 

 

 

Scholarships Forms are sent to all Conditional offer holders.

This is an externally funded scholarship for Paediatricians only with at least 2 years experience.  You must be a national of and domiciled in a developing country.

Level of funding

Awards will be made primarily on the basis of academic merit. The purpose of the awards is to support applicants who are unable to obtain the full tuition fee from other sources. Priority will be given to applicants who already have some funding in place, or have a clear expectation that this can be obtained, or can show evidence that they are actively searching for additional funds.

LSTM reserves the right to withdraw the offer of a scholarship if an applicant has not fully met the conditions of their offer within a set timeframe. These conditions may include, but are not limited to;

-          obtaining the necessary visa by the stated date

-          showing proof of additional funding

-          obtaining English language requirements, etc.

Where deadlines are set for meeting conditions, LSTM reserves the right to offer the scholarship to another applicant if these are not met.

Timing of decisions
Applicants can expect to hear the outcome of their application within 4 weeks of the deadline date for applications.

Students in receipt of a Discount cannot concurrently apply for a Scholarship
