HIV policy in WHO: uses and limits of evidence informing policy

Nathan Ford joined the World Health Organization in Geneva as a Programme Manager in the Dept of HIV/AIDS and Global Hepatitis Programme, where he leads and contributes to guideline development. He has served as a member of the Guideline Review Committee since 2013 and as an editorial advisor to the WHO Bulletin since 2012.

Prior to joining WHO he supported HIV programmes in a number of countries in southern Africa and South-East Asia, most recently as the Head of MSF’s Medical Unit in South Africa. He holds a degree in Microbiology and Virology, a Masters in Public Health and Epidemiology, and a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology, and has published over 300 articles across a range of topics in medicine and public health. 

Nathan is also an Editor with the Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group, based at LSTM.
