Honorary Research Fellow
Michelle is a lecturer and spatial epidemiologist at Lancaster University. Her research interests lie in developing and applying spatial statistical methods and digital health tools for guiding vector-borne disease control activities. Michelle undertook her PhD in spatial epidemiology at Lancaster University (2007-2011), following which she worked as a postdoctoral researcher and subsequently a MRC Fellow at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (2012-2017). Michelle specialises in combining information obtained from field studies and remote sensing (satellites, drones) to better understand the spatial heterogeneity in risk of diseases including malaria, Human African Trypanosomiasis, schistosomiasis and lymphatic filariasis.
