After a Ph.D. in Medical Entomology from Cheikh Anata Diop University (Dakar, Senegal). I visited LSTM in 2016 as a Visiting Scientist through the MRF (MRC) African Research Excellence Fund training fellowship. I joined the Institut Hospitalo-Universitaire Infection Méditerranéen in Marseille (France) in 2017 until 2019 as a PDRA on several Infection-pole funded projects on vector microbiome.
As a Research associate at Cheikh Anta Diop University, my research interest lies with better understanding vector bio-ecology and the behavior with regards to vector control interventions to better tailors and target current and future vector control measures. My work focuses on various aspects of insect vector ecology, population genetics and genomics, evolution with relation to their evolving environment, and applied consequences of insecticide resistance and the control of mosquito vectors of human disease, especially malaria's vectors. With the main interest in the speciation Anopheles gambiae s.l. species and Insecticide resistance in malaria vector. I am leading a project funded by the West African Network for TB, AIDS and Malaria (WANETAM2) / EDCTP-RegNet 2015-1049 (, tracking back target-site insecticide resistance mechanisms in An. gambiae s.l. populations from Senegal. Under the sponsorship of Dr. Weetman and Prof. Donnelly I am also currently carrying out a Wellcome Trust Training Fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine on the Landscape changes, genetics structure of malaria vectors and their parasites in Senegal-impact on malaria epidemiology and control.
