Dr Carmen Maroto Camino

Dr Carmen Maroto Camino worked as LSTM's Technical Design and Implementation expert providing advice across departments in the planning and implementation of public health projects, mainly in conflict and post conflict states before joining the CNTD Team. She also provided support to South Sudan health systems project and coordinated routine HMIS establishment. She also conducted evaluations and economic evaluations as part of LSTM Consultancy in Nigeria, Mozambique, Brazil and Central America.

She provides planning support and coordinates routine HMIS inputs to METRe's Monitoring & Evaluation project in South Sudan as well as providing advice and consultancy in value for money assessments of LSTM and other partners projects.

Carmen is a medical doctor, has completed studies in Tropical Medicine and holds an MSc (Economics) in Health Policy, Planning and Financing.

Prior to joining LSTM she worked in the Spanish health care system as Intensive Care Specialist before opting for an international career in public health. She has designed and implemented programmes (humanitarian and longer term) in conflict and post conflict settings in Africa, the Balkans, the Middle East and Indian subcontinent for various organizations including WHO, MSF, IRC and Medecins du Monde, among others.
